Increased life and strength result from our unique reaction bonding process which produces a higher density silicon carbide. This higher density reduces internal oxidation (a cause of aging) and increases structural integrity. Surface Igniters^TM  draw less current and light gas at lower temperatures than competitive products due to the efficient double helix design.

The FY family of reaction-bonded silicon carbide igniters incorporates bushing designs which make them especially suited for use in sealed combustion applications. Secondary gasketing can be readily added when necessary. An optional flame probe can be integrally mounted into the ceramic bushing as a low-cost alternative to a "stand-alone" flame probe requiring a secondary access hole and mounting.
