Increased life and strength result from our unique reaction bonding process which produces a higher density silicon carbide. This higher density reduces internal oxidation (a cause of aging) and increases structural integrity. Surface Igniters^TM  draw less current and light gas at lower temperatures than competitive products due to the efficient double helix design.

The RA and RS families of reaction-bonded silicon carbide igniters are designed for use primarily in gas cooking ovens. The design incorparates high temperature shields for that environment. These products are suitable for constant duty use in high ambient conditions.
