Increased life and strength result from our unique reaction bonding process which produces a higher density silicon carbide. This higher density reduces internal oxidation (a cause of aging) and increases structural integrity. Surface Igniters^TM  draw less current and light gas at lower temperatures than competitive products due to the efficient double helix design.

The FD, FR, FS and FW families of reaction-bonded silicon carbide igniters employ conventional ceramic bushings. These will fit directly into most existing burner designs and HVAC applications. The FR igniter can be provided with or without a high-temperature shield.
